Manufacturing Engineer

Successful manufacturer of electro-mechanical systems and instrumentation is in need of a Manufacturing Engineer for a considerable opportunity for professional achievement and the amplitude to make significant strides in improving their manufacturing and quality processes.

The successful candidate will be involved in providing engineering and quality control supervision / improvement to the manufacturing floor. The position will also serve as a technical interface with engineering and vendors.

Will employ SPC and Lean tools to achieve quantifiable improvements in yields and efficiencies on existing product lines. And take ownership of, and drive, quality improvement efforts to reduce field failures.

Requirements

• Minimum of a B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial engineering
• At least 5 years experience as a manufacturing/quality engineer in a similar manufacturing environment
• Experience with International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR) desirable
• Working knowledge of electronic PCBA and IPC610A standards.
• Knowledge and proficiency in Lean manufacturing, 5S, DMAIC, DOE, FMEA and SPC are highly desirable.
• Must have very strong statistical skills and the ability to record and analyze data to uncover manufacturing and quality trends.
• Must be able to provide motivation and leadership to shop floor teams
• Demonstrated experience in identifying critical shop floor skills and implementing cross-functional training to ensure business process continuity.
• Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing related failures of mechanical and electronic assemblies and if required, escalate to engineering or external vendors as required
• Experience interfacing with other departments such as engineering and purchasing to introduce new products into production.
• Experience with ISO would be a plus.
