Main Responsibility
Apply metrology and quality planning disciplines to the development of new products and processes, the resolution of quality issues, the improvement of product and process performance, and the reduction of manufacturing costs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support Rapid Response Tooling program through
  • Requirements Review of all specifications
  • Meteorology planning for tooling qualification
  • Quotation for tooling qualification and part meteorology
  • Support tool measurement
  • Advanced quality planning for new and transferred products
  • Fixture design and development for multiple part measurement
  • Programming and qualification of optical measurement equipment
  • Troubleshooting measurement programs
  • Test Method Validation of measurement methods
  • Data collection planning to support SPC

Support quality engineering across all Value-Streams

  • Data collection and analysis for part submissions
  • Meteorology report preparation
  • GR&R reports

Work directly with customers and other sites to

  • Review requirements
  • Plan meteorology

    Support meteorology personnel in lab through

    • Meteorology training
    • GDT training
    • Optical measurement training
    • Optical measurement programming
    • Measurement method training
    • GR&R coordination

    Coordinate outside meteorology, including

    • Work with tool makers and tool meteorologist
    • Prepare specification documentation to toolmakers and outside labs
    • Provide guideline for test methods
    • Review meteorology reports
    • Work with tooling engineers in tool adjustments
    • control plan development,
    • protocol review and approval,
    • product qualification packet compilation and submission; e.g., PPAP,v
    • statistical process control,
    • process monitoring implementation,
    • data analysis for quality improvement.
    • Maintain housekeeping, organization, and presentation of workspace.
    • Backup to lab personnel as required due to absence or vacation schedules
    • Other duties as assigned by Quality Manager.

    Requirements

      • Engineering or technical degree, or equivalent experience
      • Experience working in a highly regulated quality system environment (ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820, other), preferred
      • Plastics industry experience
      • Certified Mechanical Inspector certification, or equivalent experience
      • Mechanical, optical, and laser scanning technology training and experience
      • Knowledge, training, or experience in:
      • Metrology
      • GDT, print interpretation
      • CAD models
      • Measurement technology
      • Statistical techniques
      • Statistical software; e.g., Minitab, Predisys
      • Optical measurement software; e.g., Measuremind
      • Programming Optical Measurement/Vision Systems; e.g., OGP
      • Programming CMM’s
      • Validation activities
      • Clean-room practices
      • Experience in meteorology planning
      • Experience in project management
      • Good writing and personal communication skills
      • Must be well organized and focused
      • Computer skills required
