Design Engineer

Responsibilities will include the design and project engineering of Point-of-Purchase (POP) Displays and store fixtures made out of wood, metal and injection molded plastics

Seeking a highly motivated self-starter to provide engineering support for Retail Displays and Fixtures (P.O.P.) client base:

  • Review of renderings and plans with Director of Engineering.
  • Engineer to furnish complete engineering documentation and file output to facilitate prototype and production parts, while maintaining design aesthetics at the safest and most cost effective solutions.
  • Provide engineering from concept to documentation using SolidWorks. Including: 3D modeling (layout and space study), 2D mechanical drawings, material specs and weights, bill of materials, assembly drawings, various file formats, and instruction sheet procedural views.
  • Review with all necessary internal personnel the engineered displays or fixtures for prototype, production, or instruction sheets.
  • Assist in the assembly of prototype and/or preproduction displays/fixtures as needed.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering or Industrial Design
  • 3+ years experience of engineering and design standards as well as manufacturing capabilities is required.
  • Experience in the design and project engineering of Point-of-Purchase (POP) Displays or store fixtures is highly desirable
  • Experience in SolidWorks CAD REQUIRED
  • Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes such as wood, metal and plastics.
  • A working knowledge of 3-D wire frame construction, design layouts, assembly drawings and/or component part drawings.
  • Need to be a good problem solver that can work independently and in a team environment
